Getting wet 'n' wild
Most of the camps we work with are based beside scenic lakes that are used for swimming, all types of water sports and even paddle boarding. As each kid’s safety is paramount we need numerous qualified lifeguards to work at camps across the US. That’s where you come in.
You’ll spend your day teaching swimming, keeping on eye on anyone near or in the water and generally making sure everyone’s having fun. Safely, of course!

If you fancy a summer by the water, spent swimming and soaking up some sunshine, this is the role for you.
When applying, make sure to highlight your ability and skill level, both in and around the water. (No modesty necessary.) You need to be a strong swimmer and if you don’t have previous lifeguarding experience, you must be keen to learn.

What does a lifeguard do at summer camp?
In short, have a lot of fun. You’ll get to work on your tan, you can jump into cool water whenever you get too toasty and your so-called office has a breathtaking view.
During the daily swimming lessons you’ll teach both young kids and more experienced teenagers. You might be posted at the lake or by the pool, balancing on a paddle board or working with inflatable toys. No two days are the same. Some even end in a pool party!
The camp directors look for enthusiasm, energy and responsibility; so although lifeguarding is lots of fun, it’s also one of the most important and safety-focused roles at camp.
